Human Resources Administrator

Markey's, a multi-state leading provider of creative audio-visual services, is seeking a talented HR professional to join our Human Resources team! Position Summary
The HR Administrator oversees the recruitment and successful onboarding of new employees, and administers the employee health, welfare and retirement plans. This position supports HR-related projects and initiatives and serves as a resource for employee-owners.

This is a full-time, salaried (exempt) position, with daytime hours (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm). Position reports to the Director of Human Resources and is based at Markey's Headquarters Office located near downtown Indianapolis.


Major Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding:

  • Maintain Applicant Tracking Software (ATS), ensuring postings are current, notifying hiring managers of qualified candidates and updating applicant status.
  • Actively recruit qualified candidates to join Markey's team. Coordinate job postings through a variety of sources, including online job boards, collegiate job boards and social media.
  • Screen candidates and conduct initial phone screens as requested by hiring managers.
  • Extend verbal and/or written job offers to selected candidates.
  • Coordinate logistics and communications for new hire onboarding experience at Headquarters Office. Prepare agenda and related materials, and participate in HR-related sessions.
  • Manage employee referral program, tracking referrals and notifying payroll of bonuses.


Benefits:

  • Administer health, welfare and retirement plans, including enrollments and terminations.
  • Coordinate benefit education for eligible new hires, manage annual open enrollment period, and ensure accurate record keeping and proper premium deductions.
  • Coordinate medical leave requests and disability claims, ensuring completion of appropriate forms and monitoring status. Process 401(k) salary deferral changes, loans and hardship withdrawals.
  • Assist with benefits reporting and compliance testing requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison with various insurance carriers and foster effective relationships with client representatives.
  • Ensure plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and plan provisions are followed.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Gain working knowledge of Predictive Index (PI) and apply to screening of candidates. Utilize tools in PI software to assist managers with developing interview questions and job assessments.
  • Educate employees on clothing allowance/uniform options for their position, and serve as liaison with employee uniform vendor and ensure functionality and accuracy of employee uniform ordering website.
  • Assist with completion of employment verifications.
  • Serve as a resource for employee questions, providing solutions and support as appropriate.


Necessary Skills/Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Human Resources; prior experience with benefit administration and/or talent acquisition required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field. HRCI or SHRM designation (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) preferred but not required.
  • Must possess a high level of attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and ability to multi-task and prioritize work responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of HR-related laws and regulations preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Previous experience with HRIS and ATS preferred.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, demonstrating good customer service skills, resourcefulness, and commitment to respecting and maintaining the confidentiality and privacy of employee information.
  • Ability to learn Predictive Index and utilize available software tools.
